Some Thoughts on Summer

July 19, 2009

From Tom

Below are a few quick unrelated thoughts on summer life at the Church.

● I have a bit of love/hate relationship with summer right now. I love summer and look forward to the chance to slow down, but that really hasn’t happened yet. Plus, it can be difficult when volunteers and staff are away and you have to pick up an extra load. Luckily there is still about 6 weeks to find some rest.

● This week I recorded three messages for the Fall series. That feels good to get them done. The goal for the summer is to have the first 11 messages of the year done before Labor Day weekend. Another goal is to keep them under 15 minutes, which happened with 2 out of 3 of them. It is really difficult to develop a full message in under 15 minutes.

● Your work in the summer will determine the quality of your Fall.
